This however was not to be the end and to quote a phrase from Marriott “The Ripper mystery is like a magnet it keeps drawing you back”
Further evidence came to light regarding two earlier unsolved Ripper like murders which occurred in London in 1864
and 1872. Having regard to the age of the suspect when he was arrested in 1894 (54) Marriott believes he could have also been also responsible for
these murders.
In addition, in his book he has attempted to disprove the previously accepted theories with regards to the removal of
the organs and the cutting/tearing of the apron piece from Catherine Eddowes and the suggestion that the organs were
taken away by the killer wrapped in the apron piece, then discarding the empty apron piece a short time later within
one mile of the murder scene.
In an effort to prove or disprove these theories he enlisted the help of a number of forensic experts from the world
of medicine, and a Master Butcher. A number of controlled tests and experiments were carried out on deceased persons
in an attempt to remove the organs under the same crime conditions.
The results together with what the experts say now support his belief that the killer did not remove the organs at the
crime scene and the apron piece could not have been cut/torn for that purpose.
The full results of these tests together with colour photographs to support this are to be found in an extended chapter on Jack the Ripper in his new book
