I will go as far as to say that Trevor does cast significant doubt on the question of exactly how and where many of the ripper’s victims injuries were caused and puts forward a perfectly feasible possible solution regarding the role the blood stained piece of apron found on the night of the ‘double event’ may have played (or indeed NOT played) in things. I also think Trevor’s ‘new suspect’ is a worthy addition to the list…”

In this 2 hours live show Mr Marriott with the aid of photos discloses the results of his investigation, which certainly has made me re think my perception of this mystery. A definite must see for all who have more than a passing interest into the crimes of Jack the Ripper.”

In fact, ‘Jack the Ripper-A 21st Century Investigation’ is a challenging, thought-provoking, interesting and most important of all, FRESH watch and as such is I feel an essential purchase for anybody either casually or seriously interested in the case.
As with all such ‘experts who make a video about their particular theory’ watching this you do have to allow Trevor a certain amount of grace on the odd occasion he either says something you totally disagree with, takes a chunk out of your favourite candidate, fills out a lead into a point with a few ‘suitable assumptions’ or gets a fact muddled up. The essence of importance here is NOT whether you agree with Trevor, can ‘spot a whole’ in his argument or in something he has said but the valid, challenging and persuasive NEW insights he brings to the whole Jack The Ripper story.
Now, I’m not going to be a ‘spoilsport’ and go into tiny detail as to what these new insights are about but I will go as far as to say that Trevor does cast significant doubt on the question of exactly how and where many of the ripper’s victims injuries were caused and puts forward a perfectly feasible possible solution regarding the role the blood-stained piece of apron found on the night of the ‘double event’ may have played (or indeed NOT played) in things. I also think Trevor’s ‘new suspect’ is a worthy addition to the list…
Trevor presents this three-hour video in a jovial, relaxed way and puts his arguments across well throughout. I do feel he may be guilty at times of ‘grasping at suitable ‘bolt-ons’ to support what he is about to say but then I guess if we were in the same situation in front of an audience we would do the same. At the end of the day, this far down the line, all we really have are theories and at least here Trevor has come up with some new and FRESH ones that put a very different slant on the whole case.
As a man with considerable personal experience of murders and murderers (Trevor is a retired murder squad detective), it is much harder to dismiss the conclusions this man comes to and that is what makes this a video to watch over and over again.
While (as a VERY amateur Ripperologist and ‘Maybrickite’) I do NOT agree with all of what Trevor suggests or concludes I do feel a sense of genuine excitement having watched this video that his investigation has highlighted much of interest that calls for further research here. Forget recent revelations regarding DNA evidence – the Jack The Ripper story (all VERY interesting but is CERTAINLY not sufficient evidence to state bullishly that the whole case is solved!) has a long way to run yet…
Overall, this is a great video and ESSENTIAL viewing for those who love to discuss and debate the case.

I will not spoil the contents for anyone but if you have any interest in “Jack” and all of the theories that have been put forward over the years this is a great DVD to buy”
